Our Homes

Christie Development Centre

Christie Development Centre comprises of two seperate care homes; Christie House and Sherwood View.

 

Christie House provides accommodation, activities, community access and assessed care support for five residents, both male and female.

The home offers a needs led service for our residents who may be diagnosed with Moderate/Severe Learning Disabilities and/or dual diagnosis Challenging Behaviour/Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Christie House is a purpose built, specially adapted five bedroomed community based home on the outskirts of Blidworth village, surrounded by open countryside within walking distance of the village shops, the local community centre, Library and Blidworth woods.

The local Bus Service connects with both Nottingham and Mansfield.

 

The home also has vehicles which enable our residents to access a wide range of activities such as cinema/theatre, concerts, horseriding, swimming, hydrotherapy, eating out, personal shopping trips to major towns and dog walking.

Residents also participate in a range of in house activities including crafts, painting and drawing, DVD nights, takeaway evenings, music evenings and music therapy along with other therapeutic activities.

 

We are committed to supporting and enabling our resident’s development and independence by actively encouraging individuals to participate in life skills such as meal preparation, laundry, maintaining the cleanliness of their home, money skills and to access the community.

Sherwood View provides accommodation, activities, community access and assessed care support for five residents.  The home offers a needs led service for our residents who may be diagnosed with Moderate/Severe Learning Disabilities and/or dual diagnosis Challenging Behaviour/Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Sherwood View is a purpose built, specially adapted four bedroomed home which also has a flat on the top floor which comprises of a fifth bedroom, a lounge, kitchenette/dining room and bathroom facilities.

The home is community based on the outskirts of Blidworth village, surrounded by open countryside within walking distance of the village shops, the local community centre, Library and Blidworth woods.  The local Bus Service connects with both Nottingham and Mansfield.

Lawrence Mews

Lawrence Mews is a fived bedded property which is split in two separate homes. There are 2 bedrooms at the front of the property and 3 at the rear, both with private gardens.

The home supports adults with learning disabilities, complex needs including autism or communication difficulties and challenging behaviour. The specialist team focus upon the needs of each person to tailor the support to meet the individuals needs.

The home is 5 minutes away from the town of Eastwood and within the same time you are in open country side or can be heading for a walk along the Erewash and Nottingham canals.

A bus stop is immediately accessible for local routes and journey’s to our neighbouring towns and Cities of Mansfield, Derby and Nottingham.

A train station is 20 minutes walk away running on the Nottingham and Chesterfield line and the home has its own transport to support community access.

All residents are supported to develop and maintain their life skills to promote their independence and self esteem. Lawrence Mews offers Activities of all varieties which include accessing the community. These are planned around each individual to accommodate their likes, dislikes and educational resources.

In house activities are delivered such as:- games, arts and crafts, music, tv/films, takeaway evenings, baking along with therapeutic activities.

The staff team are committed to delivering a high level of care which exceed minimum standards.
Staff are varying in age, levels of experience and skills.

Spring Bank

Spring Bank aims to provide quality holistic care encompassing full time residential accommodation and person-centred support. Offering a highly staffed, needs-led service for up to six individuals with learning difficulties who may be on the Autistic spectrum, have sensory modulation dysfunction/ sensory integration problems and/or epilepsy, any of which may be expressed by challenging behaviour.

Everyone is supported to develop and maintain their life skills to promote their self-esteem and independence. A variety of activities are planned around each person to accommodate their individual likes, dislikes & preferences.

Set in 7 acres, including mature woodland, open fields, including landscaped gardens with extensive seating areas, an exercise room, a patio area and a paddock area with trampoline and willow arbour.

Within the grounds there is a community resource centre for people with learning disabilities run by Springs Nottingham, which offers consistent opportunities for individual development, life & work skills, arts room, sensory integration, soft play and multi-sensory areas.

Situated in the outskirts of Brinsley village. It is surrounded by open countryside and is within walking distance of the main village centre, and Eastwood town centre. Spring Bank is also close to local countryside walks such as Colliers wood & Alfreton Park. Excellent bus services offer community connections wider afield.

 

Within Spring Bank, we have all the facilities you would expect in a family home, offering a comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable environment: Facilities include a large separate T.V. lounge and a large domestic style kitchen and dining area.

We work to ensure that our staff receive all the training and support they need to provide the best person-centred service to the people we support.

All staff undertake a thorough Induction & training programme which includes specialist support to managing behaviours that may challenge. The attainment of Diploma Qualifications will always be promoted and fully supported.

Belmont Road

Belmont Road is a bespoke service providing residential accommodation for a young lady in a Bungalow set in a quiet residential cul-de-sac location.It is a short walk to local amenities and over looks fields to the back where horse shows are held.The local community is accessed daily via activities such as, music therapy, shopping, family visits, dog walking, cinema. country walks and discos.

 

The resident is supported to go on appropriate holidays of her choice and family relationships are always maintained by visits, phone calls letters and parties.The staff team are very dedicated, skilled and deliver a high quality of care to the young lady to develop her independence and zest to enjoy life.
